After seven years, the moment has come for us to say goodbye to SCCER-SoE. We look back on intense, insightful and rewarding years and are proud of what we have achieved. And of course, thank you, our readers, for your interest in the project and also to everyone involved in the SCCER-SoE for your support and contributions!

#25 How to promote public participation in energy projects - a holistic approach

Public participation is often brought forward as the solution to achieve social acceptance in energy projects. Despite its broad recognition, participation may be defined very differently depending on one’s perspective. This can lead to misunderstandings about the nature and scope of participative approaches, which can delay or even impede energy projects. Based on empirical evidence from the Genevan geothermal programme, we developed a holistic approach to design public participation.

Our newsletter in German and French offers you an exclusive insight into SCCER-SoE projects three times per year. In July 2021, we have sent out the last issue of the newsletter. All previous issues will of course remain accessible on this website.
